SDM Command Line Tools
The following table lists the command line tools used with .sdm files.

| SDM Command Line Compiler (SdmC.exe) | Responsible for validating the correctness of a .sdm file according to the SystemDefinitionModel Schema. |
| SDM Manager Generator (SdmG.exe) | An SDK tool that helps developers to build abstract SDM models for use with Visual Studio 2005 |
| SDM Prototype Generator (ProtoGen.exe) | Generates an initial Distributed System Designer prototype file for an abstract type. |
Note Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Architects must be installed to use the SDM command-line tools and compile the SDM samples.
