MetadataWorkspaceExtensions.IsDerivedType Method

Determines whether the specified entity type is a derived type.

Parameters

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
True if the specified entity type has a base type; false otherwise.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type EntityType. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Remarks

The IsDerivedType() method is used by the Generate Database Wizard when generating a database from a conceptual model.
