3.2 Defined Name

This example shows a defined name that refers to the absolute cell reference $E$4 on the second sheet of the file, as illustrated in the following figure. The defined name is specified by a BrtName (section 2.4.711) record.

This example includes all of the records that define supporting links (section 2.2.7.2) for the defined name. Together, these records specify which workbook and which sheet the defined name is referring to. Two records are stored between the BrtBeginExternals (section 2.4.82) and BrtEndExternals (section 2.4.433) records: BrtSupSelf (section 2.4.813) and BrtExternSheet (section 2.4.665).
