Hide or lock slices
You can hide and lock slice layers just as you would other layers in your document.
Note
While a slice is hidden or locked, it cannot be selected, moved, or modified.
Hide a slice
To hide a slice
Expand the Slice Layer in the Layers panel.
Next to the slice that you want to hide, click the Toggle Visibility button. The slice's bounding box disappears from the artboard, and the objects remain so that you can work with them.
Note
Any changes you make to the artboard within the slice's bounding box will update what is exported with the slice. For more information, see Change what appears in a slice.
To show a slice
Expand the Slice Layer in the Layers panel.
Next to the slice that you want to show, click the Toggle Visibility button. The slice's bounding box appears on the artboard.
Lock a slice
You can lock a slice to prevent any changes to the slice properties.
To lock a slice
Expand the Slice Layer in the Layers panel.
Next to the slice that you want to lock, click the Toggle Lock button. The slice is locked and cannot be selected, moved, or modified. However, you can change the order of the slice by dragging it under Slice Layer in the Layers panel.
Note
Locking a slice does not prevent changes from being made to the objects that the slice contains.
To unlock a slice
Expand the Slice Layer in the Layers panel.
Next to the slice that you want to unlock, click the Toggle Lock button. The slice becomes unlocked.
