Change what appears in a slice
You can modify a slice after you have created it. You can add more objects, remove objects, change the slice boundaries, and hide or show the layers that appear in a slice. You can also modify the export properties that were set for the slice (see Modify slice properties).
To add or remove objects from a slice
To add or remove objects from a slice, you can add or remove objects from the artboard in the boundaries of the slice. You can also add objects outside the boundaries of the slice and then resize the slice boundaries to include the new objects (see "To change the boundaries of a slice," later in this topic).
The preview of the slice under Edit Slice in the Properties panel will automatically updates to reflect the added or removed objects. This means that any time you add an object to the artboard, if it is within the boundaries of a slice, the new object will appear in the slice, even if the slice was hidden or locked when the object was added.

If you have trouble selecting objects that are already inside the blue bounding box of a slice, use the Direct Selection

button under Slice Layer in the Layers panel.If you do not want to remove objects from the artboard, you can alternatively hide them in a slice independently of their visibility on the artboard. For more information, see "To change which of the captured objects appear in a slice," later in this topic.
To change the boundaries of a slice
Under Slice Layer in the Layers panel, make sure that the slice is visible

Use the Selection

tool to drag the resizing handles that appear around the slice's bounding box.If Snap to Guides is turned on (View menu), the slice boundaries will snap to the boundary lines of nearby slices, and the boundary lines will turn red where they overlap (until you release your mouse button).

Tip
You can also change the boundaries of a slice by using the Fit Slice to Content command. If the slice's blue bounding box is bigger than it needs to be, or if it is not big enough to include all of the surface area of an object, you can click Fit Slice to Content on the Object menu.
To change which of the captured objects appear in a slice
Under Slice Layer in the Layers panel, make sure that the slice is visible
and unlocked . Otherwise, you will not be able to select or modify the slice. If a slice is hidden, click the Toggle Visibility button. If the slice is locked, click the Toggle Lock button.Under Slice Layer or on the artboard, select a slice that you want to modify.

The slice properties appear under Edit Slice in the Properties panel.

Expand the Slice contents drop-down menu and expand individual layers to view the objects that appear within the boundaries of your slice. You can choose to omit (or hide) objects by clearing the check box that appears next to the object name.
