Reset toolbars

You can reset toolbars to their original buttons, menus and submenus by using the mouse or you can use the Rearrange Commands dialog box which is accessible using a keyboard menu. For more information, see Rearrange commands.

To reset a toolbar to its original buttons menus and submenus

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Toolbars tab, in the Toolbars box, select the toolbar you want to reset, and then click Reset.

To restore original buttons and menus on a built-in toolbar

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Toolbars tab, in the Toolbars box, click the name of the toolbar you want to restore.

  3. Click Reset.

To restore original settings for a built-in toolbar button

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.

  2. While the Customize dialog box is open, right-click the button, and then click Reset.

To show original toolbar buttons

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Options tab, click Reset menu and toolbar usage data.
