About the Entity dimension
Models use the Entity dimension to maintain a list of business entities for a financial model.
Dimension member properties
The following table describes the predefined member properties for the Entity dimension.
Name
Description
Currency
An updatable property of selectable currency types that are used for reporting, such as "USD", "EURO", and "CAD". The selectable values reflect the members in the Currency dimension.

EntityTypeMemberID
An updatable property of selectable types that determines how an entity is processed during consolidation.
Note:
When using this property in a business rule calculation, you must explicitly reference the property as EntityTypeMemberID. Do not use a substitute such as "Entity type".
Entity types must be one of the following:
Corporate
Legal
Management
None
Note The consolidation process requires entities of type Legal or Management.
Intercompany
A Boolean value that indicates whether a copy of the entity will be created in the Intercompany dimension. The following table shows how the Intercompany value is determined by the value of EntityTypeMemberID.

User modifications in the Entity dimension
You can add a new dimension member to the Entity dimension, or modify existing members. In addition to new dimension members, you can also add or modify member sets, member views, and member properties.
