Use prompt validation in voice response applications to determine whether strings in resource files are present in the selected prompt project.

Prompt validation in voice response applications compares the selected prompt project against resource files that have the same language as the prompt project and against resource files that are not language-specific. If a string is in the resource file, but is not present in the prompt project as an extraction and a .wav file, an error is displayed in validation results.

Validating a Prompt Database

To validate a prompt database against a voice response application project

  1. In Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, open a prompt database.

  2. On the Speech Prompt Editor toolbar, click Prompt Validation.

  3. On the Prompt Validation toolbar, click Do Validate Project.

  4. In the Solution Prompt Validation dialog box, select a project, and then click OK.

Importing Text

To import text into the Prompt Validation window

  1. On the Prompt Validation toolbar, click Import Text.

  2. In the Import Text dialog box, select a text file, and then click Open.

  3. On the Prompt Validation toolbar, click Do Text Validation.
