Privacy of Fatal Error Reporting Information

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

The Windows Error Reporting feature creates an error file whenever a fatal Speech Server error occurs. This error file can contain sensitive information about callers that were active in the system when the error occurred. The file can be sent (manually or automatically) to Microsoft to troubleshoot the problem and help improve the product. For more information, see Windows Error Reporting.

If you choose to send the error file to Microsoft, Windows Error Reporting sends the file over the Internet using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to make the file less vulnerable to attackers. For more information, see Privacy Statement for the Microsoft Error Reporting Service.
