ToolStripDropDown.OnOpening(CancelEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the Opening event.

protected:
 virtual void OnOpening(System::ComponentModel::CancelEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnOpening (System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs e);
abstract member OnOpening : System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnOpening : System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnOpening (e As CancelEventArgs)

Parameters

e
CancelEventArgs

A CancelEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnOpening method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnOpening(CancelEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnOpening(CancelEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
