DataGridView.OnCellFormatting(DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the CellFormatting event.

protected:
 virtual void OnCellFormatting(System::Windows::Forms::DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnCellFormatting (System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs e);
abstract member OnCellFormatting : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnCellFormatting : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnCellFormatting (e As DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs)

Parameters

Exceptions

The value of the ColumnIndex property of e is greater than the number of columns in the control minus one.

-or-

The value of the RowIndex property of e is greater than the number of rows in the control minus one.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnCellFormatting method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnCellFormatting(DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnCellFormatting(DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
