Selecting a predefined template

You can select a predefined business rule template when Creating a new rule.

Because the rule you develop with a template is a valid rule, it has the same characteristics as any other rule. That is, each rule has three specific characteristics that govern how the rule is managed and processed: rule type, rule set type, and rule implementation. Every rule must belong to a rule set, and the choice of rule set type determines which options are available for rule type. For information about available rule templates, see About predefined rule templates.

Planning Business Modeler displays available template options in the New Rule dialog box when you create a rule. The templates that Planning Business Modeler displays depend on the type of rule set in which the rule will be created. For more information about rule set types and rule types, see About rule set types and rule types.
