Complete the following prerequisites before you use Microsoft Azure Active Directory Access Control (also known as Access Control Service or ACS):

To use ACS, you must create a project and add one or more namespaces to it. Go to the Microsoft Azure Management Portal (https://manage.WindowsAzure.com), sign in, and then click Active Directory. (Troubleshooting tip: "Active Directory" item is missing or not available) To create an Access Control namespace, click New, click App Services, click Access Control, and then click Quick Create. (Or, click Access Control Namespaces before clicking New.) For help with ACS management tasks in the Microsoft Azure Management Portal, click Active Directory, and then click Help (?). (Or, click Active Directory, click Access Control Namespaces, and then click Help.)

ACS is compatible with any modern web platform, including .NET, PHP, Python, Java, and Ruby. ACS can be accessed from applications that run on almost any operating system or platform that can perform HTTPS operations.
