TakeOwnerShip method of the Win32_CodecFile class

The TakeOwnerShip WMI class method obtains ownership of the logical file specified in the object path. If the logical file is actually a directory, then TakeOwnerShip acts recursively, taking ownership of all of the files and subdirectories the directory contains.

Syntax

Parameters

This method has no parameters.

Return value

Returns one of the following integer values.

The request was successful.

Access was denied.

An unspecified failure occurred.

The name specified was not valid.

The object specified already exists.

The file system is not NTFS.

The platform is not Windows.

The drive is not the same.

The directory is not empty.

There has been a sharing violation.

The start file specified was not valid.

A privilege required for the operation is not held.

A parameter specified is not valid.
