SourceSafe Options Dialog Box, International Settings Tab (Explorer and Plug-in)

Specifies international settings used in a distributed environment. This tab is available both in Visual SourceSafe Explorer and a SourceSafe plug-in in Visual Studio.

Note

Changes you make in this tab will not take effect until you restart the application.

Dialog Box Access

In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Options, then International Settings.

In Visual Studio, on the Tools menu, click Options. In the Options dialog box, select Source Control, then Plug-in Settings, and then click Advanced. See the "Plug-in Tabs for Source Control (Options Dialog Box)" in the Visual Studio Help.

  • Application Language
    Allows you to set the application language for the user interface.
  • Select a default encoding for editing, viewing and merging text files
    Specifies the text file encoding to use for the editor program selected for editing, viewing, and merging. The default setting is System Default Code Page.

    Note

    The setting you make does not affect Unicode text files.

  • Select a language for the SourceSafe user interface
    Specifies a language to use for the user interface. The default setting is Same as Microsoft Windows.
  • Text Files
    Allows you to set the default file encoding to use for editing, viewing, and merging text files.
