The MsiDiscoveryInfo (ApplicationType) element, in Configuration Manager, indicates that the parent application configuration item is managed by the Windows Installer and can be discovered by querying the Windows Installer on the target computer. This element provides the discovery data that is needed for querying the Windows Installer.
