This section includes several models that help explain the fundamentals of how Microsoft project code named "Velocity" works. Each model listed in the following table describes a different aspect of the product from a high level. Follow the links provided under the See Also headings for more details.

Topic Description

Physical Model (Velocity)

Describes cache servers, cache hosts, the cache cluster, the cluster configuration storage location, and the PowerShell-based cache administration tool.

Logical Model (Velocity)

Describes named caches, regions and cached objects.

Programming Model (Velocity)

Describes how applications should use "Velocity."

Configuration Model (Velocity)

Describes configuration at the application, cache host, and cluster level.
