StringBuilder Constructor (String, Int32)

[ This article is for Windows Phone 8 developers. If you’re developing for Windows 10, see the latest documentation. ]

Initializes a new instance of the StringBuilder class using the specified string and capacity.

Namespace:  System.Text
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public StringBuilder(
	string value,
	int capacity

Type: System.String
The string used to initialize the value of the instance. If value is null, the new StringBuilder will contain the empty string (that is, it contains Empty).
Type: System.Int32
The suggested starting size of the StringBuilder.

capacity is less than zero.

If capacity is zero, the implementation-specific default capacity is used.

The following code example demonstrates how to call the StringBuilder constructor with an initial string and a specified capacity.

string initialString = "Initial string. ";
int capacity = 255;
StringBuilder stringBuilder =
    new StringBuilder(initialString, capacity);
