Dispatcher.CurrentDispatcher Property

Gets the Dispatcher for the thread currently executing and creates a new Dispatcher if one is not already associated with the thread.

You cannot use this property in XAML.

Property Value

The dispatcher associated with the current thread.

If a Dispatcher is not associated with the current thread, a new Dispatcher will be created. This is not the case with the FromThread method. FromThread will return a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) if there is not a dispatcher associated with the specified thread.
