TextBox.Text Property

Gets or sets the text contents of the TextBox.

Property Value

A string containing the text contents of the TextBox. Getting this property returns a string copy of the contents of the TextBox. Setting this property replaces the contents of the TextBox with the specified string. The default value is Empty.

This property does not support animation.

When used in databinding scenarios, this property uses the default update behavior of LostFocus.

This example shows how to use the Text property to set the initial text contents of a TextBox control.

tbSettingText.Text = "Initial text contents of the TextBox.";
