TextBox.OnTextInput Method

Called before the TextInput event occurs.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Controls
Assembly:  System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)

protected override void OnTextInput(
	TextCompositionEventArgs e

Type: System.Windows.Input.TextCompositionEventArgs
Provides data about the event.

The OnTextInput method is called before any event handler for the TextInput event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the TextInput event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding the OnTextInput method in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnTextInput method so that registered delegates receive the event.
