DebuggerStepThroughAttribute Class

DebuggerStepThroughAttribute Class

[ This article is for Windows Phone 8 developers. If you’re developing for Windows 10, see the latest documentation. ]

Instructs the debugger to step through the code instead of into the code. This class cannot be inherited.

Namespace:  System.Diagnostics
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

[AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Class|AttributeTargets.Constructor|AttributeTargets.Method|AttributeTargets.Struct, Inherited = false)]
public sealed class DebuggerStepThroughAttribute : Attribute

The DebuggerStepThroughAttribute type exposes the following members.

Public methodDebuggerStepThroughAttributeInitializes a new instance of the DebuggerStepThroughAttribute class.

Public methodEqualsInfrastructure. Returns a value that indicates whether this instance is equal to a specified object. (Inherited from Attribute.)
Protected methodFinalizeAllows an object to try to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before the Object is reclaimed by garbage collection. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetHashCodeReturns the hash code for this instance. (Inherited from Attribute.)
Public methodGetTypeGets the Type of the current instance. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodMatchWhen overridden in a derived class, returns a value that indicates whether this instance equals a specified object. (Inherited from Attribute.)
Protected methodMemberwiseCloneCreates a shallow copy of the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodToStringReturns a string that represents the current object. (Inherited from Object.)

The common language runtime attaches no semantics to this attribute. It is provided for use by source code debuggers. For example, the Visual Studio debugger does not stop in a method that is marked with this attribute but does allow a breakpoint to be set in that method. The combination of the DebuggerStepThroughAttribute attribute and the DebuggerHiddenAttribute attribute, which hides the code from the debugger, is the equivalent of the DebuggerNonUserCodeAttribute attribute.
