CustomAttributeExtensions.GetCustomAttributes Method (MemberInfo, Boolean)

Retrieves a collection of custom attributes that are applied to a specified member, and optionally inspects the ancestors of that member.

public static IEnumerable<Attribute> GetCustomAttributes(
	this MemberInfo element,
	bool inherit


Type: System.Reflection.MemberInfo
The member to inspect.
Type: System.Boolean
true to inspect the ancestors of element; otherwise, false.

Return Value

Type: System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<Attribute>
A collection of the custom attributes that are applied to element that match the specified criteria, or an empty collection if no such attributes exist.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type MemberInfo. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter.
