XmlReader.ReadElementContentAsAsync Method

Asynchronously reads the element content as the requested type.

	IXmlNamespaceResolver namespaceResolver
)

Parameters

returnType
Type: System.Type
The type of the value to be returned.
namespaceResolver
Type: System.Xml.IXmlNamespaceResolver
An IXmlNamespaceResolver object that is used to resolve any namespace prefixes related to type conversion.

Return Value

Type: System.Threading.Tasks.Task<Object>
The element content converted to the requested typed object.

ExceptionCondition
InvalidOperationException

An XmlReader method was called before a previous asynchronous operation finished. In this case, InvalidOperationException is thrown with the message “An asynchronous operation is already in progress.”

InvalidOperationException

An XmlReader asynchronous method was called without setting the Async flag to true. In this case, InvalidOperationException is thrown with the message “Set XmlReaderSettings.Async to true if you want to use Async Methods.”

This is the asynchronous version of ReadElementContentAs(Type, IXmlNamespaceResolver), with the same functionality. To use this method, you must set the Async flag to true.
