QueryExtensions.SortBy<T> Method

Specifies a sort order.

Type Parameters

T

The generic type of the object.

Parameters

source
Type: System.Linq.IQueryable<T>

The object to sort.

sortExpression
Type: System.String

The sort expression.

Return Value

Type: System.Linq.IQueryable<T>
The sorted version of the source object.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type IQueryable<T>. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
