Char.IsLower Method (Char)

 

Indicates whether the specified Unicode character is categorized as a lowercase letter.

public static bool IsLower(
	char c
)

Parameters

c
Type: System.Char

The Unicode character to evaluate.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean

true if c is a lowercase letter; otherwise, false.

Valid lowercase letters are members of the following category in UnicodeCategory: LowercaseLetter.

The following code example demonstrates IsLower.

public class IsLowerSample {
	public static void Main() {
		char ch = 'a';

		Console.WriteLine(Char.IsLower(ch));				// Output: "True"
		Console.WriteLine(Char.IsLower("upperCase", 5));	// Output: "False"
