Char.IsLower Method (Char)

Indicates whether the specified Unicode character is categorized as a lowercase letter.

Namespace:  System
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public static bool IsLower(
	char c
)

Parameters

c
Type: System.Char
A Unicode character.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if c is a lowercase letter; otherwise, false.

Valid lowercase letters are members of the following category in UnicodeCategory: LowercaseLetter.

The following example demonstrates IsLower.

   {
      char ch = 'a';

      outputBlock.Text += Char.IsLower(ch).ToString() + "\n";
