What's New in Server Core for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012

In Windows Server 2012, Server Core became a feature that can be added or removed without completely reinstalling the operating system. There is also another variant called the Minimal Server Interface that allows for some GUI calls to succeed. To support these changes, the method used to detect a Server Core configuration changed.
