ClientOperation.DeserializeReply Property

Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether the Formatter property value is used to deserialize the reply message.

Namespace:  System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher
Assembly:  System.ServiceModel (in System.ServiceModel.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Property DeserializeReply As Boolean
public bool DeserializeReply { get; set; }

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the return type is not a Message; otherwise, false.

Remarks

Use the DeserializeReply property to control whether the formatter deserializes the return value from an inbound message or the inbound message is returned directly as the return value.

NoteNote:

If false, the return type must be of type Message and there can be no out parameters or an InvalidCastException is thrown at run time. If the message is nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic), a InvalidOperationException is thrown at run time.
