Cómo mostrar un cuadro de diálogo de impresión (WPF .NET)

¿Desea imprimir desde la aplicación? Puede usar la clase PrintDialog para abrir un cuadro de diálogo de impresión estándar de Microsoft Windows. Esta es la manera de hacerlo.

Nota:

El control System.Windows.Controls.PrintDialog usado para WPF y que se describe aquí no debe confundirse con el componente System.Windows.Forms.PrintDialog de Windows Forms.

La clase PrintDialog proporciona un único control para la configuración de impresión y el envío de trabajos de impresión. El control es fácil de usar y se puede crear una instancia mediante marcado XAML o código. En los ejemplos siguientes se crea y se muestra una instancia de PrintDialog mediante código.

Puede usar el cuadro de diálogo de impresión para configurar las opciones de impresión, como:

  • Imprimir solo un intervalo específico de páginas.
  • Seleccionar entre las impresoras instaladas en el equipo. Puede usar la opción Escritor de documentos de Microsoft XPS para crear estos tipos de documento:
    • XML Paper Specification (XPS)
    • Especificación de papel de Open XML (OpenXPS)

En este ejemplo se imprimen todas las páginas de un documento XPS. De forma predeterminada, el código hará lo siguiente:

  1. Abrir una ventana de diálogo de impresión que pide al usuario que seleccione una impresora e inicie un trabajo de impresión.
  2. Crear una instancia de un objeto XpsDocument con el contenido del documento XPS.
  3. Utilizar el objeto XpsDocument para generar un objeto DocumentPaginator que contenga todas las páginas del documento XPS.
  4. Llamar al método PrintDocument, pasando el objeto DocumentPaginator, para enviar todas las páginas a la impresora especificada.

A veces solo querrá imprimir un intervalo específico de páginas dentro de un documento XPS. Para ello, ampliamos la clase abstracta DocumentPaginator para agregar compatibilidad con los intervalos de páginas. De forma predeterminada, el código hará lo siguiente:

  1. Abrir una ventana de diálogo de impresión que pide al usuario que seleccione una impresora e inicie un trabajo de impresión.
  2. Crear una instancia de un objeto XpsDocument con el contenido del documento XPS.
  3. Utilizar el objeto XpsDocument para generar un objeto DocumentPaginator que contenga todas las páginas del documento XPS.
  4. Crear una instancia de una clase extendida DocumentPaginator que admita intervalos de páginas, pasando el objeto predeterminado DocumentPaginator y la struct PageRange devuelta por el PrintDialog.
  5. Llamar al método PrintDocument, pasando la instancia de la clase extendida DocumentPaginator, para enviar el intervalo de páginas especificado a la impresora especificada.

Sugerencia

Aunque puede usar el método PrintDocument para imprimir sin abrir el cuadro de diálogo de impresión, por motivos de rendimiento es mejor usar el método AddJob o uno de los muchos métodos Write y WriteAsync del XpsDocumentWriter.
