How to: Save Views

Saving a view changes the view definition on the server. The underlying database engine uses your new view definition when you save your view.

Note

Saving views is not fully available for connections to some database management systems.

Note

Your computer might show different names or locations for some of the Visual Studio user interface elements in the following instructions. The Visual Studio edition that you have and the settings that you use determine these elements. For more information, see Customizing Development Settings in Visual Studio.

To save a view

  1. Open a view definition in Query and View Designer and modify it.

  2. From the File menu, click Save view_name, where view_name is the name of the open view.
