Install SQL Server Data Tools in Visual Studio 2015
Since SQL Server tooling is included in VS, the updates will be pushed through VS Update and users will be prompted when VS is open. If you'd like to check for updates manually, open Visual Studio 2015 and choose the Tools > Extensions and Updates menu. SQL Server tooling updates will appear in the Updates list.
The download may be available a few days prior to Visual Studio Updates being published. To directly apply the update, refer to the links in the administrative install section. You can run the links directly without making the administrative layout.
Set up an Administrative Install Point (optional)
For locations without internet access, create an Administrative Install Point for SQL Server Data Tools by following this procedure:
Download SSDT as an ISO image (optional)
An ISO image of SSDT can be used as an alternative way to install SSDT or to set up an Administrative Installation point. The ISO is a self-contained file that contains all of the components needed by SSDT and it can be downloaded using a restartable download manager, useful for situations with limited or less reliable network bandwidth. Once downloaded, the ISO can be mounted as a drive or burned to a DVD.
