OnKeyPress Method

TreeView.OnKeyPress Method (KeyPressEventArgs)

This API supports the product infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

Raises the KeyPress event.

Namespace:   System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

protected override void OnKeyPress(
	KeyPressEventArgs e

Type: System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs

A KeyPressEventArgs that contains the event data.

If the Handled property is set to false, the TreeView control will select the first item that begins with the value of the KeyChar property of e.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnKeyPress method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding OnKeyPress in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnKeyPress method so that registered delegates receive the event.
