Converts the specified Boolean value to the equivalent 8-bit signed integer.

This API is not CLS-compliant.

Parameters

value
Type: System.Boolean

The Boolean value to convert.

Return Value

Type: System.SByte

The number 1 if value is true; otherwise, 0.

The following example converts the Boolean values true and false to signed byte values.

Dim falseFlag As Boolean = False
Dim trueFlag As Boolean = True

Console.WriteLine("{0} converts to {1}.", falseFlag, _
                  Convert.ToSByte(falseFlag))
Console.WriteLine("{0} converts to {1}.", trueFlag, _
