Graphics::DrawRectangle Method (Pen, Single, Single, Single, Single)

Draws a rectangle specified by a coordinate pair, a width, and a height.

Parameters

pen
Type: System.Drawing::Pen

A Pen that determines the color, width, and style of the rectangle.

x
Type: System::Single

The x-coordinate of the upper-left corner of the rectangle to draw.

y
Type: System::Single

The y-coordinate of the upper-left corner of the rectangle to draw.

width
Type: System::Single

The width of the rectangle to draw.

height
Type: System::Single

The height of the rectangle to draw.

ExceptionCondition
ArgumentNullException

pen is nullptr.

The following code example is designed for use with Windows Forms, and it requires PaintEventArgs e, which is a parameter of the Paint event handler. The code performs the following actions:

  • Creates a black pen.

  • Creates the position and size of a rectangle.

  • Draws the rectangle to the screen.

      // Create location and size of rectangle.

   }
