The DOT11_ADDITIONAL_IE structure specifies characteristics of additional information elements (IEs) for a BSS 802.11 Beacon or Probe Response frame.

The DOT11_ASSOCIATION_COMPLETION_PARAMETERS structure specifies the results of the association operation performed by the 802.11 station with either an access point (AP) or peer station. The Native 802.11 miniport driver includes a DOT11_ASSOCIATION_COMPLETION_PARAMETERS structure when the miniport driver makes an NDIS_STATUS_DOT11_ASSOCIATION_COMPLETION status indication.

The DOT11_DISASSOCIATION_PARAMETERS structure specifies the results of the disassociation operation performed by the 802.11 station with either an access point (AP) or peer station. The Native 802.11 miniport driver includes a DOT11_ASSOCIATION_DISASSOCIATION_PARAMETERS structure when the driver makes an NDIS_STATUS_DOT11_DISASSOCIATION status indication.

When queried, this OID requests that the miniport driver return a list of the entries from its PMKID cache.

The 802.11 station uses the PMKID cache for preauthentication to access points that have enabled the Robust Security Network Association (RSNA) authentication algorithm. If the 802.11 station is associating or reassociating to a BSSID that matches an entry in its PMKID cache, the 802.11 station must use the PMKID data in the RSN information element (RSN IE) of its Association or Reassociation frame. For more information about the RSN IE, refer to Clause 7.3.2.25 of the 802.11i-2004 standard.

Note  Support for OID_DOT11_PMKID_LIST is mandatory if the 802.11 station supports PMKID caching for the DOT11_AUTH_ALGO_RSNA authentication algorithms. The miniport driver specifies its support for this authentication algorithm when OID_DOT11_SUPPORTED_UNICAST_ALGORITHM_PAIR or OID_DOT11_SUPPORTED_MULTICAST_ALGORITHM_PAIR are queried.

A miniport driver uses the NDIS_STATUS_DOT11_PMKID_CANDIDATE_LIST indication to request pairwise master key identifiers (PMKIDs) for basic service set (BSS) identifiers (BSSIDs) that the 802.11 station can potentially roam to. When roaming, the 802.11 station uses the PMKID value to pre-authenticate with an access point (AP).

A miniport driver must make the NDIS_STATUS_DOT11_PHY_STATE_CHANGED indication whenever the hardware or software power state of a PHY changes on the 802.11 station.

A miniport driver uses the NDIS_STATUS_DOT11_TKIPMIC_FAILURE indication whenever a received packet, successfully decrypted by the TKIP cipher algorithm, fails the message integrity code (MIC) verification.

The data type for this indication is the DOT11_TKIPMIC_FAILURE_PARAMETERS structure:

OID_DOT11_POWER_MGMT_MODE_STATUS

This OID supports Query operation. Windows issues this OID to query the status of the power mode.

OID_DOT11_POWER_MGMT_MODE_AUTO_ENABLED

This OID supports Set operation. If a miniport driver reports that it supports automatic Power Save Mode (Auto-PSM) capability, then Windows issues this OID when appropriate. For example, when the power policy UX does not set Wi-Fi power to "Maximum Performance". On receipt of this OID, devices should operate intelligently in a power efficient way, and transition in and out of PS mode as appropriate.

OID_DOT11_OFFLOAD_NETWORK_LIST

This OID supports Set operation. OID_DOT11_OFFLOAD_NETWORK_LIST Set OID requests the Wi-Fi device to set up hardware to scan for networks in the offload list. Hardware should scan for all SSIDs on hinted channels and only interrupt Windows when it finds one or more networks with BSS's in the offload list. This list contains SSID's that are setup to auto-connect. Devices must configure the offload of all networks on the list or none when it returns failure. The offload-list may contain networks less or equal to the number of uMaxNetworkOffloadListSize in the DOT11_EXTSTA_ATTRIBUTES structure. The NIC should indicate when the network appears but not when the network disappears. If the device is in a low power state (D3), the NIC should wake Windows, to indicate a match within the NLO list.

DOT11_COUNTRY_STRING

The DOT11_COUNTRY_STRING array defines an 802.11 regulatory domain. For more information about country strings and regulatory domains, refer to the IEEE 802.11d-2001 standard.

The completion parameters for a Group Owner (GO) negotiation confirmation are specified in a DOT11_GO_NEGOTIATION_CONFIRMATION_SEND_COMPLETE_PARAMETERS structure. This structure is sent with an NDIS_STATUS_DOT11_WFD_GO_NEGOTIATION_CONFIRMATION_SEND_COMPLETE request to the miniport.
