Device Install Check For Other Device Stability (Certification)

This automated test verifies that no device or driver, except the device under test, has been affected by the device(s)/driver(s) install OR co-install process.

This test does the following:

  1. Scans and records information about every device on the system in a file called preinstallscan.xml.

  2. Runs Reinstall with IO test.

  3. Scans and records information about every device on the system in a file called postinstallscan.xml.

  4. Parses preinstallscan.xml and postinstallscan.xml files to report any inconsistencies between the information recorded in them as errors. Examples of inconsistencies: different number of devices recorded in preinstallscan.xml and postinstallscan.xml, devices reporting problem codes in postinstallscan.xml but not in preinstallscan.xml.

Preinstallscan.xml and postinstallscan.xml can be browsed by right clicking on the “Run Test” task for this test in HCK Studio’s Results tab and clicking on “Additional Files”.
