NdisReadPortBufferUchar function

Note   NDIS 5. x has been deprecated and is superseded by NDIS 6. x. For new NDIS driver development, see Network Drivers Starting with Windows Vista. For information about porting NDIS 5. x drivers to NDIS 6. x, see Porting NDIS 5.x Drivers to NDIS 6.0.

NdisReadPortBufferUchar is called by the miniport driver to read a specified number of UCHARs from a NIC into a buffer.

Syntax

VOID NdisReadPortBufferUchar(
  _In_  NDIS_HANDLE NdisAdapterHandle,
  _In_  ULONG       Port,
  _Out_ PUCHAR      Buffer,
  _In_  ULONG       Length
);

Parameters

NdisAdapterHandle [in]

Specifies the handle that the NDIS interface library associates with the network interface card.

Port [in]

Specifies the I/O port.

Buffer [out]

Pointer to the caller-supplied buffer in which this function writes the UCHAR values read from Port.

Length [in]

Specifies the number of pieces of data to read from Port to Buffer.

Remarks

NdisReadPortBufferUchar reads sequentially each byte from the port. It determines how the host accesses the I/O port and processes the read request accordingly.
