Customizing the Items That Appear on the Wizard Pages
To customize the text that appears on the wizard pages, you must localize it. You can also customize the icon and bitmaps that appear on the wizard pages. Or, you can provide both localized and nonlocalized icons and bitmaps.
To localize an item, you specify a language and the custom text, icon, or bitmap for that language. To localize the items that appear on the DPInst wizard pages, include a language XML element as a child element of the dpinst XML element.
To customize (but not localize) the icon or bitmaps, include a corresponding element as a child element of a dpinst element instead of as a child element of a language element. For example, consider the icon. This item can be localized by an icon XML element that is a child element of a language element. The icon can also be customized, but not localized, by another icon element that is a child element of a dpinst element. DPInst determines which item to use as follows:
If an item is localized for the language that DPInst uses, DPInst uses the localized item.
If the item is not localized for the language that DPInst uses, and if there is a nonlocalized custom item, DPInst uses the nonlocalized custom item.
If the item is not localized or customized, DPInst uses a default item.
