Biometric IOCTLs

This section defines the IOCTLs that make up the Windows Biometric Driver Interface (WBDI). This is the IOCTL set called by the Sensor Adapter in the Windows Biometric Service (WBS). Each of the IOCTLs can be canceled by the caller. The caller can get control back by issuing asynchronous overlapped I/O. The caller uses CancelIo or CancelIoEx to cancel I/O requests.

For all IOCTLs in this section, the input/output buffers are contiguous data buffers.

Vendor-supplied WBDI drivers must support these IOCTLs:

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_GET_ATTRIBUTES

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_GET_SENSOR_STATUS

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_RESET

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_CALIBRATE

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_CAPTURE_DATA

Optional IOCTLs include:

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_GET_SUPPORTED_ALGORITHMS

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_UPDATE_FIRMWARE

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_GET_INDICATOR

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_SET_INDICATOR

IOCTL_BIOMETRIC_VENDOR
