SMI-S Profile Requirements - All Providers

This section details the SMI-S profile requirements for all providers.

Required Profiles

All providers must implement the following profiles. Refer to the SMI-S Common Profiles book for more details.

ProfileNotes
SMI-SAll providers must register the SMI-S Profile and should advertise this by SLPv2. The RegisteredOrganization must be 11 (SNIA). See Profile Registration Profile (Common Profiles, Clause 41) for more details.
Profile Registration ProfileMust use the interop namespace to register profiles. See Profile Registration Profile (Common Profiles, Clause 41) for more details.
Server ProfileFor the SMI-S Server instance. See Server Profile (Common Profiles, Clause 40) for more details.
Multiple Computer System SubprofileSee Multiple Computer System (Common Profiles, Clause 30) for more details.
Health PackageSee Health Package (Common Profiles, Clause 25) for more details.
Physical Package PackageThe Physical Package Package is used in conjunction with other profiles to obtain product information such as manufacturer, model and serial numbers from various components.
Job Control SubprofileMandatory for provisioning operations that require more than 10 seconds to complete. See Job Control Subprofile (Common Profiles, Clause 26) for more details.
