IPropertyCmdletProvider.ClearProperty Method (String, Collection<String>)

Updated: April 27, 2016

Applies To: Windows PowerShell

Clears a property from the specified item.

Namespace:   System.Management.Automation.Provider
Assembly:  System.Management.Automation (in System.Management.Automation.dll)

void ClearProperty(
	string path,
	Collection<string> propertyToClear

Type: System.String

The path to the item whose properties are to be cleared.

Type: System.Collections.ObjectModel.Collection<String>

The properties to be cleared.

In this context, an "item" is something that contains content within a store. For example, the items exposed through the FileSystem provider could be files or directories.

This method defines provider-specific functionality for the Clear-ItemProperty cmdlet. If this implementation of the cmdlet requires addition parameters, the provider must also call the ClearPropertyDynamicParameters method.

For more information about providers, see Windows PowerShell Providers [ps].
