CommandTypes Enumeration

Defines the types of commands that Windows PowerShell can execute.

AliasAliases create a name that refers to other command types.
AllAll possible command types.
ApplicationAny existing application (can be console or GUI).
CmdletThe command is a cmdlet.
ConfigurationTBD. Introduced in Windows PowerShell 4.0.
ExternalScriptThe command is a Windows PowerShell script (*.ps1 file).
FilterThe command is a script filter that is defined by a script block.
FunctionThe command is a script function that is defined by a script block.
ScriptThe command is a script that is built into the runspace configuration.
WorkflowThe command is a workflow. Introduced in Windows PowerShell 3.0.
