GetEffectivePermission method of the Win32_NTEventlogFile class

The GetEffectivePermission WMI class method determines whether or not the caller has all of the permissions on the Win32_NTEventlogFile object and share where the file or directory is located, if the directory is on a share.

Syntax

Parameters

Permissions [in]

Bitmap of permissions that the caller can inquire about.

FILE_READ_DATA (file) FILE_LIST_DIRECTORY (directory)

Grants the right to read data from the file. For a directory, this value grants the right to list the contents of the directory.
FILE_WRITE_DATA (file) FILE_ADD_FILE (directory)

Grants the right to write data to the file. For a directory, this value grants the right to create a file in the directory.
FILE_APPEND_DATA (file) FILE_ADD_SUBDIRECTORY (directory)

Grants the right to append data to the file. For a directory, this value grants the right to create a subdirectory.
