Drop-Down Menus: UI Text Guidelines

In a menu bar, use single words for menu labels. A multiple-word label might be confused for two one-word labels. However, don't create artificial compound words, such as Fontsize, either. Make menu command labels as brief as possible, but clearly describe the functionality.
When describing the selection of a drop-down menu command, refer to the two-click method of selection. Do not refer to the single-click method (clicking the menu label, dragging the mouse pointer to the menu command, and then releasing the mouse button).
Use unique menu labels across the menu bar or within an individual menu. Labels can be repeated in different menus when they represent similar actions.
