ValueSerializer.ConvertFromString Method (String, IValueSerializerContext)


When overridden in a derived class, converts a String to an instance of the type that the implementation of ValueSerializer supports.

Namespace:   System.Windows.Markup
Assembly:  System.Xaml (in System.Xaml.dll)

public virtual object ConvertFromString(
	string value,
	IValueSerializerContext context


Type: System.String

The string to convert.

Type: System.Windows.Markup.IValueSerializerContext

Context information that is used for conversion.

Return Value

Type: System.Object

A new instance of the type that the implementation of ValueSerializer supports based on the supplied value.

Exception Condition

value cannot be converted.

The base implementation always throws an exception.

Avoid throwing exceptions from implementations. See Remarks in ValueSerializer.
