KeyEventHandler Delegate

Represents the method that will handle the KeyUp and KeyDown events.

Namespace: System.Windows.Input
Assembly: PresentationCore (in presentationcore.dll)

'Declaration
Public Delegate Sub KeyEventHandler ( _
	sender As Object, _
	e As KeyEventArgs _
)
'Usage
Dim instance As New KeyEventHandler(AddressOf HandlerMethod)
/** @delegate */
public delegate void KeyEventHandler (
	Object sender,
	KeyEventArgs e
)
In XAML, you can use delegates but you cannot define your own.

Parameters

sender

The source of the event.

e

The event data.

This delegate is used with the following events: KeyUp, KeyDown, and the corresponding tunneling events.

When you create a KeyEventHandler delegate, you identify the method that will handle the event. To associate the event with your event handler, add an instance of the delegate to the event. The event handler is called whenever the event occurs, unless you remove the delegate. For more information about event-handler delegates, see Events and Delegates.

The following example checks whether the key associated with the event is the Return key.

Private Sub OnKeyDownHandler(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As KeyEventArgs)
    If (e.Key = Key.Return) Then
        textBlock1.Text = "You Entered: " + textBox1.Text
    End If
End Sub
