Control::OnLayout Method (LayoutEventArgs^)

Raises the Layout event.

Namespace:   System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnLayout(
	LayoutEventArgs^ levent
)

Parameters

levent
Type: System.Windows.Forms::LayoutEventArgs^

A LayoutEventArgs that contains the event data.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnLayout method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding OnLayout in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnLayout method so that registered delegates receive the event and for typical docking and anchoring functions to work. Derived classes should override this method to do any custom layout logic.
