TextBox.OnGotFocus Method
[ This article is for Windows Phone 8 developers. If you’re developing for Windows 10, see the latest documentation. ]
Called before GotFocus event occurs.
Assembly: System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)
Parameters
- e
- Type: System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs
The data for the event.
The OnGotFocus method is called before any event handler for the GotFocus event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the GotFocus event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
By default, when the TextBox control has lost focus, the text in the TextBox is not selected and the cursor does not appear.
Notes to InheritorsWhen overriding OnGotFocus method in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnGotFocus method so that registered delegates receive the event.
