ObjectDataSourceView::OnInserting Method (ObjectDataSourceMethodEventArgs^)

Raises the Inserting event before the ObjectDataSourceView object attempts an insert operation.

Namespace:   System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnInserting(
	ObjectDataSourceMethodEventArgs^ e
)

The OnObjectCreating method is called, only if the method that is identified to perform the data operation is not static (Shared in Visual Basic).

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see NIB: Consuming Events.

The OnInserting method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding the OnInserting method in a derived class, be sure to call the OnInserting method for the base class so that registered delegates receive the event.
